fastcgi_cache_path /var/run/nginx-cache levels=1:2 keys_zone=MICROCACHE:100m inactive=60m max_size=1g;

Tested & Verified

Recommended sysctl Kernel Tweaks

Make sure to also apply these Linux network socket tunings in /etc/sysctl.conf:

BASH
sysctl -w net.core.somaxconn=65535
sysctl -w net.ipv4.tcp_max_syn_backlog=65535
sysctl -p

Check file descriptor limits with ulimit -n to ensure you don't hit socket bottlenecks under 50,000+ simultaneous connections.

Enterprise NVMe Gen4 Cloud VPS Performance Benchmark

Verified Hardware Guide PHP 8.4 Production

This benchmark was conducted on a live production node located in Dhaka DC-1 with direct BDIX connectivity and sub-5ms latency across Bangladesh.

1. Storage & Latency Metrics Comparison

Hardware TierSequential ReadRandom 4K IOPSBDIX Average TTFB
Standard Legacy HDD180 MB/s1,200120ms
Standard SATA SSD540 MB/s45,00045ms
Enterprise NVMe Gen46,850 MB/s850,0004.8ms

2. Nginx & FastCGI Microcaching Configuration

To achieve maximum throughput under sudden traffic surges, add the following configuration to your server block:

NGINX
fastcgi_cache_path /var/run/nginx-cache levels=1:2 keys_zone=MICROCACHE:100m inactive=60m max_size=1g;
fastcgi_cache_key "$scheme$request_method$host$request_uri";
fastcgi_cache_use_stale error timeout invalid_header http_500;
fastcgi_ignore_headers Cache-Control Expires Set-Cookie;

Do not enable microcaching on authenticated user session cookies or cart/checkout routes!

Browser Verification Shortcut

Press Ctrl+Shift+R to bypass browser caching and inspect response headers.

โ–ถ Raw FIO Benchmark Output
fio --name=random-write --ioengine=posixaio --rw=randwrite --bs=4k --size=4g --numjobs=1 --iodepth=1 --runtime=60 --time_based --end_fsync=1 Jobs: 1 (f=1): [w(1)][100.0%][w=412MiB/s][w=105k IOPS][eta 00:00:00]

Feel free to share your own benchmark numbers below! ๐Ÿš€โœจ
