Make sure you also run Supervisor queue workers for all email dispatches, SMS notifications, and invoice PDF generation.

[program:laravel-worker]
process_name=%(program_name)s_%(process_num)02d
command=php /var/www/app/artisan queue:work redis --sleep=3 --tries=3 --max-time=3600
autostart=true
autorestart=true
user=www-data
numprocs=4
redirect_stderr=true
stdout_logfile=/var/www/app/storage/logs/worker.log

This keeps your HTTP response latency instant even when generating bulk monthly customer billing runs!

Hello everyone,

We recently deployed a high-traffic Laravel 12 e-commerce application on our NVMe Cloud VPS. With local Bangladeshi visitors streaming in via BDIX connectivity, our main goal was to keep the latency strictly under 15ms and sub-100ms response time under peak load.

Here are our key server configurations:

  • PHP 8.4-FPM with OPcache preloading enabled (opcache.validate_timestamps=0 in production).
  • Redis configured via unix socket (/var/run/redis/redis-server.sock) for session and cache store.
  • Nginx fastcgi caching with microcaching on public product catalog endpoints.

Is anyone else using Nginx microcaching alongside Laravel? Are there any specific buffer pool tuning recommendations for MariaDB on 16GB RAM VPS nodes?

Great setup @tanvir.ahmed! For a 16GB RAM instance dedicated to Laravel + MariaDB, here are our production database tuning parameters:

innodb_buffer_pool_size = 10G
innodb_buffer_pool_instances = 8
innodb_log_file_size = 1G
innodb_flush_log_at_trx_commit = 2
innodb_flush_method = O_DIRECT

Setting innodb_flush_log_at_trx_commit = 2 gave us a 4x throughput boost on bulk order checkout queries with zero perceptible risk on battery-backed NVMe storage.

For Nginx microcaching with Laravel, always ensure you bypass the cache when authentication session cookies are present. For example:

# Bypass cache for authenticated users
if ($http_cookie ~* "laravel_session|XSRF-TOKEN") {
    set $skip_cache 1;
}

Also, pair it with Cloudflare with Bangladesh edge routing for static assets. Your TTFB will easily drop to 12ms from Dhaka and Chittagong.
